Moodabidiri: “Agriculture in our base, but the number of people who are interested in agriculture has been decreased drastically. The government is providing new technology machines on rent for the farmers which have made agriculture easier,” said MLA Abhanychandra Jain.
He was addressing the gathering at Alva’s Krishisiri – 2016 organised by Alva’s educational foundation, SKDRDP, District Agricultural Siciety, Mangaluru, Karnataka State Farmers Association, Moodabidiri Agricultural Centre, on Thursday at Annappa Mijaru stage.
SKDRDP Managing Director Dr L H Manjunath said that farmers are in loss because they are confused whether to adopt advanced agricultural form or to continue with the traditional form of agriculture. Agriculture needed to be promoted very well.
“Scientific farming should be promoted more o these days. A farmer can yield more profit if he follows new technology and advanced farming techniques. If the researched done by the agricultural scientist implemented in India, then the farmers can expect more yield in their crops,” he added.
