Mangaluru: KPCC President Dr G Parameshwara inaugurated Mangaluru Dasara-2017 celebrations at Kudroli temple in Mangaluru city in the presence of dignitaries in an event held on Friday. Mangaluru Dasara festival procession being organised by Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatheshwara Temple is scheduled for September 30 at 04.00 PM and immersion of idols of deities will held after the procession with grand celebrations in the city.
A procession of deities including Nava Durgas, Ganapathi and others will began at 04.00 PM on Saturday from Kudroli temple and is scheduled to cover a distance of 9 kilometres covering Mannagudda, Lady hill circle, Lalbagh, PVS circle, Navbharath circle, KS Rao Road, Hampankatta, Car Street and others areas and the immersion is expected to be held at Kudroli temple on Sunday early morning. The roads where procession is scheduled to take place have been decorated with electric bulbs and other decorative items.
As many as 60 tableaux are expected to take part in the procession along with various teams of performing arts. Empty vehicles, open vehicles have been banned in the procession and no crackers, plastic items are allowed during the procession. The people have asked to park their vehicles at the respective parking sites in the city and all are advised to follow the discipline throughout the procession to be organised.
