Mangalore: The Police Flag and Welfare day was held by DK dt., and Mangalore City Police jointly, on Monday here, to remember the services of and sacrifices made by past police officers on record.
Retired police inspector B. G. Achar was the Chief guest, who stated on the occasion that cops worked day and night to keep society happy and secure. He added that the flag day was arranged to remember the retired cops and night to keep society happy and secure. Inspector-General of Police Pratap Reddy, (IGP-Western Range for 5 districts), who preside said that the police staff worked to maintain law and order, to keep down crime charts, and ensure peace in social life. They also looked after traffic, to avoid accidents.
Cops do not bother about their own lives, while facing armed gangs of robbers, naxalites, even terrorists. Reddy stressed upon an abiding friendly relationship between citizens and cops, both law-abiding friendly relationship between citizens and cops both law-abiding.
Proceeds from sale of flags are used in welfare activities towards the retired police personnel.
Mangalore Police Commissioner Seemanth K.Singh was present on the commemorative occasion.
