Mangaluru : The mayor of the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) Sudhir Kumar Shetty Kannur said that MRPL road at Surathkal will be named after Capt Pranjal, who died in the fight with terrorists at Rajauri in Jammu and Kashmir.

Speaking to media, the mayor said, “Capt Pranjal’s father is the former managing director of the MRPL. Pranjal used to walk on the same road every day during his childhood. Hence it is suitable to name that road after him. In the next general body meeting of the MCC, this matter will be presented and then sent to the government after approval. There is a proposal by Dr Bharat Shetty to name the Kottara Chowki Circle after Capt Pranjal. This will also be discussed.”

MLA Dr Bharat Shetty said that he has written a letter to the MCC urging them to name the Katipalla-Suratkal circle after Capt Pranjal.
