Mangalore : Tulunada Rakshana Vedike and students from several colleges in the city assembled in front the DCO gates on Tuesday July 22 to protest against increasing crimes on women and children in the state.
Addressing to the protesters, Tulunada Rakshana Vedike President Yogish Shetty, Jeppu said, “We cannot blame on women’s Dress code, the society’s need to change feelings towards women. Even children are not being safe in the state. We need strong bill on sexual assaults and government should wakeup to control crimes in the state.
We are looking everyday sexual attack reports on media, but culprit not getting stringent punishment. The society should create good environment to live woman. The menfolk must respects to the women’s said, Ahalya, student of Roshni Nilaya.
M G Hegde said, the district administration must hold meeting to conduct awareness programmes on avoidance of sexual crimes. Political leaders not speaking single word against culprits, they support to rise up such crimes. Each person have responsible to stop crimes.
The state police department is very strong, but they playing like politicians order. A strict rule should be enforced to the culprits. He added.
