Mangalore : The third annual day celebrations and Theeya Day were celebrated at Unity Hall, Tokkottu recently under the aegis of the Theeya Welfare Association.
Noted entrepreneur and philanthropist from Mumbai Govind Manjeshwar who inaugurated the celebrations emphasized the need for the community to progress on the educational front. He also stated that seven children from the community have been adopted to help them educationally.
He also hoped the association would shortly hold a state level convention. Sri Yogananda Saraswathi Swamiji of Kondeyur Ashrama, Uppala, blessed the occasion. Roopesh Rao, President of Theeya Welfare Association, presided over the function Gulzar Banu, Mangalore Mayor, was the guest of honour.

Students presented a variety entertainment programme including a Kannada Yakshagana ‘Mahisha Mardini.’
