Mangalore : Lolaksha of Ahinda in the press meet held at Hotel Woodlands on Feb 12, Saturday said that the Constitution of India advocates a secular outlook and expresses concern over anti constitutional developments in India.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that country’s administration is based on a secular foundation, which means that the country does not support any religion. Hence all government offices, aided schools and colleges, universities, and political parties are expected to uphold secular principles.
Lamenting about certain developments that have destroyed the secular values of the country, SaaCha he said that secular principles were pushed aside and religious programmes were organized on the occasion of the inauguration ceremony of the new building of the Gujarath High Court, during which Supreme Court judges, the governor, the chief justice of the High Court, and other dignitaries were present.
Later a social worker called Rajesh Solake was fined Rs. 20,000 for questioning this by the Gujarath High Court, which ruled that secularity is not anti-religion and that nobody can question programmes of religious nature conducted during government programmes.
