Mangalore : The Panambur Beach Lifeguards who are on the alert round the clock, ever ready to save any life in danger on the beach front, on Saturday, were successful in saving two young lives, which would have lost, if not their timely action.
Shwetha(21), a girl from Kollegal, Bangalore who had come all the way from Bangalore to the Panambur beach to end her life, was rescued by the Life Guards who saw her rushing towards the mighty ocean. It is learnt, the girl took the extreme step as she was tired of her uncle under whose care she was, for being too strict towards her. She was hospitalized and then entrusted to the care of another uncle.
In another case, a 13 year old boy named Saiteej who was at the beach along with other friends, was almost drowned and was rescued by the Life Guards. Others accompanying him had not noticed Saiteej being pulled in by the waves. The boy was from Whitefield in Bangalore.
