Mangalore : A person identified as Vijay (35) from Polali died  when he jumped down a building in an attempt to escape from a person who chased him in Moodbidri.

It is learnt Vijay hailing from Guddeyangady worked as a labourer in Moodbidri and in order to make easy money had been o the commercial complex near the town market to break open the coin phone box at around 4.30 am. But, he was noticed by a shop owner who gave him a chase and in a bid to escape, he jumped and fell. He was immediately taken to hospital, but of no avail.
