Mangalore : Thieves have broke open the office of the Sub-Registrar and Registrar of Marriages located in the DC office premises in Mangalore on the night of June 13, Thursday. However,  it is not yet clear what has been stolen.

Sources however said a cash of about Rs 65000 has been stolen. It is also learnt that there were several invaluable documents in the office which did not have any other copies or computer back-up.

Pandeshwar police are at the spot. Even forensic and finger print experts are at the office.

The office has just one security guard during night time. The motive  of the thieves is not known.

Mangalore South MLA JR Lobo also visited the office  and assured that the thieves would soon be nabbed.
