Moodbidri : A major burglary was reported from Lakshmi Jewellers on the main road of the town on August 18, Sunday evening. Thieves  who entered the shop owned by Sridhar Acharya  through the toilet using a  gas cutter and a oxygen cylinder stole the jewellery in the locker and abandoned the equipment used to enter the shop.
 However, when they noticed police patrolling the area, they have abandoned two of the gold bags  near a house. The same have been recovered by the police.

The theft was noticed when the shop keeper arrived in the morning. The rise in theft cases has been giving sleepless nights to Moodbidri people.
