Mangalore : Some Unidentified thieves decamped the gold mask and gold ornaments of deities from the Annappa Swamy Temple located at Permude, Bajpe on August 1 Friday.
After getting the information, police along with the staffs reached at the spot and collected the evidences. The theft has incurred the loss of Rs 2 crores, they stated.
According to the police, the theives had broke open the temple door and fled from the scene after robbing gold mask and a gold tongue embedded on the idol. Apart from it, they also robbed offering box placed at the temple.
The forensic expert as well as the canine squad were pressed into action. The police also found the CCTV footage which under the police custody.
It is learnt that, Annappa Swamy temple was built by Divya Roopa constructions proprietor Yadav Kotian in front of his house.
Bajpe police have registered a case.
