Bantwal : The thieves have burgled Shree Parshwanatha Basadi located in Kajekaru in Badagakajekaru village in Bantwal on August 19, Tuesday.
The basadi belongs to Rathnakumar family from Kakyapadau in Uli village.
The thieves who broke open the door, have decamped with 2 pairs of Brass Gaggara, gante, gold chain put on Padmavathi statue and Basava statue, other brass items worth Rs 50,000.
The incident came into light when, priest Narayana Belandur came to perform pooja at the Basadi.
The finger print experts and dog squad were put into action.
Bantwal DYSP Rashmi Paraddi, Belthangady circle inspector Lingappa Poojary, Poonjalakatte station officer Lathan Kumar arrived at the spot. The investigation is on.
