Bantwal : Thieves broke open the door and looted cash from a shop at Melkar junction in NH 75 on Aug 7, Thursday.

It is learnt that thieves had break open the shutters of Ganesh Traders, a shop belonging to Vallabhesh Shenoy, in Prasanna complex.

The thieves have stolen a Portable generator, a Gas cylinder, 7 kg of cashew nuts and cash amount of Rs 40,000 from the drawer.

The incident came into light when the owner opened the shop on Thursday morning.

Bantwal CI Belliyappa, SI Nandakumar, Chandrashekaraiah and other staff arrived at the spot and are investigating. Dog squad and finger print experts were pressed into action.

A case has been registered in Bantwal city police have registered the case.
