Mangalore: A burglary has been reported from the Sri Ramalinga Chowdeshwari Temple at Emmekere on Monday night. The theft came to light when the priest arrived for pooja in the wee hours of Tuesday. The value of the stolen gold and silver valuables has been estimated at Rs 5 lakhs.

It has been reported that silver weighing five kg has been stolen from the entrance dome of the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. Other stolen goods include a gold chain, a silver trishul, a silver crown and a nose pin.A cash of Rs 20,000 is also said to be stolen.

Pandeshwar police have registered a case and are conducting the investigations.
