Mangalore, July 12: A team of thieves break opens a jewelry store located at Kinnigoli Main Road and stole gold and silver ornaments worth Rs. 8.2 lakh on July 12 Thursday.

The gang broke Anugraha Jewellers, belonging to Pratviraj Acharya using hydraulic jack and fled with 170gms gold jewelry worth Rs. 4.68 lakh and silver worth Rs. 3.52 lakhs.

Reportedly, the theft and its video footages were recorded in the CCTV, which shows the details that gang had broken the shop between 1:58 a.m. and 2:35 a.m.

Sources said that the jeweler is located at Yugapurusha Building, and also had a night watchman, who was on leave during the time of burglary.

Panambur ACP Puttamadayya, circle inspector of Mulky Basheer Ahmed, and sub inspector Sunil, visited the store.

The Mulky police have registered the case and investigating is on.
