Kasargod : Thieves armed with lethal weapons who entered a house near Kumble on December 22, Saturday night have robbed the occupants of nearly 45 sovereigns of gold and a cash of Rs 25,000 after tying down the family members.
The theft took place in the house of one Rajesh Shenoy at around 8 pm. Sources said the thieves entered the compound from the rear and entered the house through the main door. They used some intoxicants to make the family members unconscious and then escaped with 12 gold bangles, five chains and three rings. They had cycle chains and swords with them. The theft came to light when the house owner Rajesh returned home. The family members said the thieves were speaking in English Kannada and Hindi.
Kumble police are investigating the case and are trying to nab the thieves with the help of a dog squad.
