Udupi : Former MP and JD(S) candidate for Udupi-Chikmagalur Lok Sabha constituency Dhananjay Kumar has expressed confidence that the Fhird Front would play a decisive role after the Lok Sabha polls at national-level.
Speaking to mediapersons before filing the nominations on Friday, the former minister said that both the BJP and the Congress led alliances will not have majority and the only alternative solution is the Third Front. The regional parties will have their say in the national politics.
Pointing out at the internal differences within the BJP, he ridiculed that the BJP is in a state of disorder, with each one trying to pull the leg of the other. The seasoned politician Advani is also not spared from the hate politics in BJP. For the reason, he felt Bhopal would be a safe terrain to trade upon. Almost all leaders in the BJP are taken over by greed and they only think of the self-interest and not the interest of the state or the nation. Even though Advani does not wish to contest from Gandhinagar fearing that Modi might create harm, the veteran politician is compelled.
Coming down heavily on former minister Ananthkumar, he said that Ananthkumar who proved utter failure as a parliamentarian, is still aspiring for power. However, Yeddyurappa seems to be determined to finish off the former’s political life. The similar game is being played by the BJP leaders everywhere. Yeddyurappa has threat in Eshwarappa and Shobha Karandlaje is targeted by Karkala MLA Sunil Kumar. The grass root workers and the people who work selflessly are not respected in the BJP, he lamented.
Expressing confidence that his experience in the political field will help him in securing votes, Dhananjay Kumar said that both the BJP and the Congress candidates in Udupi-Chikmagalur Lok Sabha constituency are raw in terms of experience.
Especially, the BJP candidate does not have enough political maturity, as she entered the field only in 1996. Both are totally immature in terms of understanding the problems faced by people of the constituency. The Congress candidate failed to represent the people’s voice in the parliament and also did not deliver solution to the problems during his tenure.
He ridiculed the BJP for portraying Modi as the leader. He censured, if at all Modi has the power to win the public mandate across the country, BJP should allow the less known people in the lower cadre of the party to contest, as Modi himself can clinch the victory for all BJP nominees.
He said his political career spin off in the year 1972 under the guidance of the former minister late V S Acharya. He is a four time parliamentarian. He said he is not new to the constituency as he has extensively traveled during his tenure as the district BJP president in erstwhile Dakshina Kannada district. The constituency suffers from the major problem of encroachment. Problems faced by farming community who are indulged in areca nut, coffee, cardamom, pepper, and coconut plantations, is evident here.
He challenged that he will quit politics on the day someone points out at his unethical or corrupt behaviour.
JD(S) state Youth President Madhu Bangarappa said secularist approach of the JD(S) will be the major factor as against the divide and rule policies followed by the BJP and the Congress. The JD(S) leaders are genuinely concerned about the public grievances.
