Mangaluru: “Thokkottu bus stand will be developed in the Private Public Partnership (PPP) model and later will be handed over to the local authorities,” said Ullal MLA and food and civil supplies Minister U T Khader.

He was speaking after inspecting the land for the construction of new bus stand along with Deputy Commissioner Dr K G Jagadeesh and revenue officials on Monday at Ullal.

“The Ashraya colony houses at Ombattukere will be demolished and apartments will be constructed for the poor. The houses in the colony were built under the Rajiv Gandhi Housing Corporation at Someshwara Ombattukere in 2001 during the tenure of S M Krishna and are now in dilapidated condition,” he said.

He further said that Rs 5 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of Abbakka Bhavan and the construction work will be commenced soon. Addittional Rs 3 crore has been requested for the interior designing of the Abbakka Bhavan.

Project Director Prasanna, AC Renuka Prasad, Tahashildar Mahadevaiah, PWD junior engineer Tejamurthy and others were present.
