Mangalore : H N Nagmohan Das, Karnataka high court judge released the book titled ‘Kanoonina Padaragalu’ (meaning: layers of law) authored by city’s senior advocate and Karnataka State Bar Council former vice-president Thonse Narayan Poojary at SDM College auditorium on April 30, Saturday.
The programme was held under the joint auspices of Academy of General Education, Manipal and Govinda Pai Research Centre, MGM College, Udupi.
Speaking after releasing the book ‘Kanoonina Padaragalu’, H N Nagmohan Das said that the world’s good books lead the people to the good path. If the people in the society have love towards the book, then the society will improve.
He also said that, books have value, life and end. Although a large number of books are accessed through the net, there is no decrease in the books which are getting published. The book has the power to enlighten one’s life and also burn it, but it must not take one to wrong direction.
Justice Abdul Nazeer presided over the function. Justice B V Pinto and additional attorney general K M Natraj and SP Chengappa, president of Mangalore Bar Association participated as the chief guests.
Briefing on the book, senior litterateur Erya Laxminarayana Alva said that the real events that tend to occur at the court is illustrated and professional experience of the author is presented in a detailed write-up, he informed and added this is a kind of first time venture by an advocate to explain the happenings in court of law.
Advocate Shashiraj Rao Kavoor compered the programme. Heranje Krishna Bhat welcomed the gathering.
