Bantwal: Pics. Karthik Studio, A large number of devotees flock at the the hill shrine of Sri Sadashiv temple, located at Narahari Paravata on the occasion of Aati Amavasye on Saturday July 30.
The devotees arrive at the temple and have a holy dip in the holy tanks located at the side of the hill shrine after climbing 400 steps.
It is believed that, those who bathe in the ponds of the hill shrine on Aati Amavasye day will be free from all their past sins and lead a healthy life.
Narahari Parvata has a mythological story which says that Lord Sri Krishna and Arjuna, one among the five Pandavas, had bathed in the three natural ponds located at the hill top here and worshiped the presiding deity of the temple, Lord Sadashiv, on Aati Amavasye. Hence all the devotees will follow their footstep and have a holy dip in these ponds.
Theatre artistes like Naveen D Padiil, ZP member Prakash Shetty Thumbe, Former MLA Padmanabha Kottary, Bantwal Town Municipal president Dinesh Bhandary and Mangaing trustte of temple P Devdas Shenoy participated in the event.
