Udupi:  Congress leader and RTI activist Vasudeva Adiga who was kidnapped on Monday, January 7 and was found dead at Kadur in Chikmagalur was cremated on January 13, Sunday in the presence of a large number of people including family, friends, well-wishers and political leaders.

The body was brought from Shimoga government hospital to Goliangadi on Saturday morning at around 9 am and was taken to the residence in a procession. Shops in the area closed down as a mark of respect.

Several leaders including president of Kota block Congress Shankar Kundar, Muzrai minister Kota Srinivas Poojary, MP Jayaprakash Hegde, industrialist Pramod Madhwaraj, K Pratap Chandra Shetty, Karkala MLA Gopal Bhandary, former Byndoor MLA Gopal Poojary , president of district unit of Mahila Congress Veronica Cornelio, Congress block president Kota Shankar Kundar, Rajesh Shetty of Brahmavar block Congress, Malyadi Shivaram Shetty of Kundapur block Congress, Gurme Suresh Shetty, Kaup, Youth Congress president Vikas Hegde and others were present.
