Mangalore: At a function got up on Tuesday, Dec.24 at Loyola Hall in St. Aloysius College PUC grounds, Karnataka Zakat and Charitable Trust (KZCT) organized the distribution of scholarships to talented students as well as disabled and poor students. The scholarships were distributed by IAF air commodore and director of Hyderabad Institute of Excellence Naseem Akhtar. Speaking on the occasion after distributing the scholarship to several thousand students Naseem stated that the Muslim students stood study well and deserved the amounts received today as future citizens and talented members of minority community. He advised the Muslim students to rise to the level of able engineers and doctors apart from being industrial and trading leaders of tomorrow. They should showcase their talents for a future strong nation.
Khalil Ahmed, chairman, Karnataka Zakat and Charitable Trust (KZCT), that collected money for scholarships told the gathering that in was the 4th year running that the trust was in a position to give these scholarships to the poor, disabled and talented students according to mark list, and only in 2012 the trust had helped nearly 7000 students.
Ziauddin Nayyar, vice-president of Iqbal Academy, former minister B A Moideen and other guests were present.
