Bantwal: Thousands of devotees visited the Sadashiva Temple at Narahari Parvatha near Kalladka and Karinjeshwara Temple on July 19, Thursday on Aati Amavasya Day to take a holy dip and offer their prayers to the Lord and seek his blessings.
Devotees had begun thronging the temples since early morning and even the KSRTC had arranged special bus services. Several newlywed couples visited the temple craving for the blessings of the lord while some suffering from asthma offered coir ropes as harake.
K Padmanabha Kottary, District BJP President, Dr Prashanth Marla, Temple Committee President, Dr Atmaranjan Rai, Renovation Committee Chief were also present.
In Kundapur: The Maharaja Varaha Temple located at Maravanthe in Kundapur taluk saw a sea of devotees on Ati Amavasye day on July 19, Thursday. The Temple celebrates the day with much grandeur. Thousand of devotees had a holy dip in the seas here and there is also a belief that Varaha Swami helps them get rid of skin ailments if any.
The temple conducts several religious rituals and offerings on this day. There is also a strong belief that newly married couples visiting the temple and taking a holy dip will have all their wishes fulfilled.
