Mangaluru: The Federation of Konkani Catholic Association will be honouring three eminent Konkanis – Paul Moras, Corrine Antoinette Rasquinha and Vivek Aranha – for their achievement in their respective fields to mark its 21st Federation Day. The awards will be presented on Feb 4 at 4:30pm in Good Shepherd Auditorium, Museum Road, Opp. St. Patrick’s Church, Richmond Town, Bengaluru.
Paul Moras will be honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award for enriching Konkani through his writing. Moras has published books covering Konkani culture and social life. He is the recipient of several awards.
Corrine Antoinette Rasquinha will be conferred with Professional Excellence Award. Corrine, who is the founder of White Doves, runs an NGO based in Mangalore. She has changed lives of many through rehabilitation centers, providing ration, shelters, food and clothes without looking at their caste or creed. Her foundation has been recognized by local administrations, Rotary clubs, national and international associations etc.
Vivek Aranha, Chairman, Rosary Education Group, Pune, will receive the Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Vivek has been providing employment for more than 500 employees through his education institution. The Rosary Group has also bagged awards from various organizations for its professional excellence.
The Federation Day will also include cultural and music events as part of its Fest. The drama “Yours Obediently”, directed by eminent theatre personality Arun Raj and his team will be presented at 4:30pm.
Justice P Vishwanatha Shetty, Lokayukta, will be the Chief Guest. Ivan D’Souza, Chief Whip to the Karnataka Legislative Council, JR Lobo, MLA, Mangaluru South Constituency, and R Sampath Raj will be the Guest of Honor. His grace Most Rev. Dr. Bernard Moras, Archbishop of Bengaluru, will preside the 21st Federation Day.
