Mangaluru: Three member from one family attempted suicide while mother and son died and the daughter survived. The incident took place at Permude on Monday.

Jayagopi (66) and her son (46) are the deceased persons. Jayagopi’s daughter Shobha (48) is the only one who survived from the incident and she is out of danger now.

Jayagopi and Shobha jumped into the well together and some local people saw that. Both were taken out of the well while Jaya breathed her last and Shobha was still alive. She was immediately rushed to the hospital and is being treated there only.

Meanwhile Suresh also committed suicide by hanging inside his room.

It is suspected that property disputes might be the reason behind this extreme step.

A case has been registered at Bajpe police station.
