Shivamogga: A mother and three daughters committed suicide together by lying on the railway track at Harige, on Tuesday.

Umadevi (40) is the deceased mother and Chitra (16) and Swati (14) are the deceased daughters. They were the residents of D R Colony, Ashok Nagar, Shivamogga.

Family dispute has been suspected behind this extreme step. The bodies were shifted to the government hospital for post-mortem after railway police examined the spot.

Railway police of Shivamogga have registered a case.
