Puttur: Police have arrested three people while transporting unaccounted cash of Rs 18.8 lakh in Rs 2000 and Rs 100 denominations, at Puttur on Wednesday.

Jafar Sharif (28), Nazeer (25) and Mohammed Iqbal (26) are identified as the arrested persons. All are residents of Golthamajalu near Kalladka.

This trio were carrying Rs 16.28 lakh in Rs 2000 denomination, Rs 1.90 lakh in Rs 100 denominations. Along with this police have also seized a amount of Rs 9300 in Rs 50 denominations.

Police conducted the operation on Mani – Mysuru state highway near Mukrampady.

Puttur rural police personnel under the guidance of SP Bhushan G Borase conducted ht operations.
