Mangaluru: Objecting Tippu Jayanthi celebration which is being celebrated by the state government, BJP activist waved black flag and tried to picket the ZP Netravati hall, on Thursday.

“Police have arrested 129 BJP activists who were protesting in front of Zilla Panchayat office before the Tippu jayanti celebration begins”, said police commissioner Chandra Sekhar.

Further he said that four drones were used to vigil the border areas of Karnataka for the first time. Previously two drones were used during Sharada Uthsava in the district. Drones were borrowed from a private company of Bengaluru on agreement basis.

Police have arrested MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLA S Angara, MLC Ganesh Karnik, former MLC Monappa Bhadary and other activists. As a precautionary measure police had arrested some people in various police station limits.
