Mangaluru: Karnataka state BJP unit president BS Yeddyurappa (BSY) has rejected all allegations made by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah who claimed that income tax officers asked Karnataka Energy Minister DK Shivakumar to join BJP during a recent IT raid on residences and offices of the minister.
Speaking to media persons just prior to a state party unit core committee meeting here in Mangaluru, BSY rejected all claims of the chief minister and said there is no proposal for DK Shivakumar to join BJP. Siddaramaiah is unnecessarily blaming BJP as part of his political tactics gain political favors in the state.
“This will be the last government state sponsored Tipu Jayanti in Karnataka and the Jayanti celebrations will be banned from next year as people have opposed to celebrate jayanti of Tipu Sultan,” BSY added.
Speaking at the same venue, BJP leader, union minister DV Sadananda Gowda said, “BJP doesn’t need a leader like DK Shivakumar who involved in number of scams. We don’t need to put pressure on the people to join BJP instead they themselves opt to join our party.”
