Mangaluru: The Mangaluru police on Tuesday December arrested two persons, including the son of Ullal town municipal council chief officer, near GHS cross road here in connection with chain-snatching incidents.

Vimarsh Alva (21), son of Ullal TMC chief officer Vani Alva and resident of Maroli, and Shahil Hussain (21), a resident of Pandeshwar are the arrested.

The duo was involved in chain-snatching incidents reported in Moodbidri on December 13 and Madyar in Ullal on December 25. Three gold chains valuing Rs 2.26 lac and two Honda Activa scooters were recovered from them.
