Mangaluru: The former railway minister Dinesh Dwivedi of Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Rajya Sabha MP MD Nadimul Haque visited the families of Jaleel and Nausheen and expressed their condolences to the families. They also presented the Rs five lakh compensation cheque to the families of the two victims.
After two days of West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee announced Rs five lac financial assistance to each of the families of Mangalore riot victims, a delegation of TMC leaders arrived in the city on Saturday, December 28.
We cannot bring back the dead by offering compensation. It is a symbol that we are with the families of the deceased, said Dinesh Dwivedi while urging for restoration of peace in the country and resolving the CAA issue with mutual discussion.
Earlier the Karnataka government has announced that 10 lakh for two deceased, The amount of compensation has been withheld for a temporary since police informed the court in the FIR as they had been identified in the riots.
