Krishna Palemar, ports Minister disturbed Tourist Taxis to beneficiary

Today, at the DCO auditorium on second floor, several tourist taxis (keys) were disturbed to SC/ST drivers who were poor and unemployed, at the behest of Tourism department of Karnataka (headed by Gali Janardhan Reddy), in a moving session at 4 Pm.

V. Ponnuraj (DC) speaking on the occasion, said that it was our duty to after people coming from other states and countries and other interests, by taking them round the region and showing them places and things. The SC/ST youths who have learnt driving but are employed, require state help to wok and promote tourism. So this plan has been worked out, he said.

Krishna Palemar, ports Minister, who presided, told the audience that SC/ST youths need encouragement and if they come forward as drivers and guides, tourism will grow. He asked the SC/ST people to grow in full strength. The govt, is behind them for their welfare, he added.

14 benficiaries received TT keys from the Minister on the occasion. Mayor Rajni Dugganna and Adilakshmamma of state Tourism were on the dais during the programme.
