Mangalore: Various trade unions such as AITUC, CITU, INTUC, HMS, and Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh organized a massive protest against petrol price hike in front of the DC’s office on June 23 Thursday.
CITU state committee vice president B. Madhava, said that increase in petrol price had an adverse effect on the life of middle class people and the central Government is least bothered about the plight of the
people.
Vishwanath Shetty, the BMS district president, criticized the state government for favoring capitalists over the working classes, he pointed out that amendments have not yet been made in the pay-scale of
labourers and the price hike of essential commodities have put the common people in problem.
Vasanth Achari, the district general secretary of CITU, and SunilKumar Bajal, the honorary president of the union, were also present.
