Mangalore: The inauguration of “BIG TRAFFIC GURU” an initiative of 92.7 BIG FM and Mangalore City Traffic police programme was held at Lalbagh Signal near the Mahatma Gandhi Statue today at 4.55 PM

A group of TRAFFIC GURU’s will enact the traffic rules for 7 days starting from today the 5th September. 9 Traffic Guru’s in 2 signals for 7 days (till 11th September covering 14 signals in and around Mangalore)

Members from the Supersouls NGO will performed an awareness drill at signals across the city as a part of this awareness drive. The awareness drives is aimed to imbibe and rekindle traffic sense among commuters and the public. This has been done by means of an audio-visual presentation.

This is an unique attempt to bring traffic awareness amongst, and probably first time the city is witnessing such an event

Sri.Vishnuvardhan, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Sri.Udaya Nayak, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Police Officers from all the stations, Sri Vijayanath Vittalnath Shetty from Sri Bhoothanathesharwa Temple Trust, Sri.Narasimha Shenoy from Origin Designext, Mr.Yathish Baikampandy from Panambur Beach Development Authority, Members of Redrocks Group.

Sri Ivan D’souza, Member of Legislative council who was on his way to attend another event, made a sudden stop and witnessed the event. He praised the initiative and wished the very best for the overall success of the event.

Speaking to media-persons Sri.Vishnuvardhan, Deputy Commissioner of Police said that, Mangalore Traffic Police department has always encouraged such a public friendly initiatives and requested the public to practice the traffic rules and lead by example.
