Mangalore : As a part of senior BJP leader and former deputy prime minister L. K. Advani’s visit to Mangalore with his Jan Chethana Yatra on October 31, Monday the district administartion has set up several security measures.
In the press release, DC Channappa Gowda stated that Advani will arrive by special flight from Bangalore and will land at Bajpe Airpot where he will address a press conference at 10:00 a.m. Further he will address a gathering at Nehru Maidan at 11:00 a.m. and will travel in the ratha from Mangalore through the national highway toward Mulky.
In order to avoid traffic blocks, the traffic will be diverted from certain routes tomorrow. Vehicles will be prevented from entering the road from Bajpe Airport to Circuit House. Vehicle movement will also be restricted from Circuit House – Karnataka Polytechnic – KPT – Nanthoor – Shivabhag – Agnes – Balmatta – Ambedkar Circle – Hampankatta – AB Shetty Circle. Vehicles will also be prevented from entering the road stretch from A. B. Shetty Circle – Hampankatta – Bavutagudda Road – Dr. Ambedkar Circle – Balmatta – St. Agnes – Shivabagh – Nanthoor – KPT – Kuntikana – Kottara.
Vehicle parking facility for people attending the event will be provided in Nehru Maidan near Old Kent Road, Mangaladevi Road, near the post office, and on Rosario Road.
