Mangaluru: A video of a traffic police officer assaulting a youth in the city has gone viral.

The incident took place on Wednesday at Car Street. It is said that a few youth had objected to a traffic policeman using his mobile instead of managing traffic. Immediately, the police caught hold of one of the youths and assaulted him. The people who gathered around managed to film the incident and it has gone viral since.

The officer in question is attached to the Mangaluru South police station.

City Police Commissioner Chandra Shekar has ordered a probe into the incident.
