Mangalore : There was tension at the Mangalore junction railway station on October 7, Monday night when a passenger travelling in the Nizamuddin-Ernakulam train died after a sudden sickness.
The passenger named Chandran Pillai (55) had fallen ill when the train reached Madagaon and the appeal of the co-passengers with the railway authorities for medical aid went unheard of. Chandran’s condition worsened and he died by the time the train reached Mangalore. Agitated passengers protested against the railway authorities and the officials had a tough time in cooling them down.
It is learnt the deceased passenger was on way to Kollam to meet his brother and that he hailed from Delhi and was a businessman in surgical equipment dealings.
