Udupi: Transgender from Coastal Karnataka has had her dreams materialized as she will debut as the first transgender anchoring a Radio show in Mangaluru.
Kajal (28) hailing from Mandya was born a male but after acknowledging feminine traits in her got her sex change operation done 12 years ago. Kajal will be the first transgender radio jockey to host a program.
The program will be aired on Radio Sarang 107.8, a 24X7 Community Radio from St Aloysius College-Mangaluru. Kajal’s show ‘Shubhamangala” will be on air from 5 pm till 6 pm on Tuesdays.
Kajal on her radio show ‘Shubhamangala’ will discuss important issues that affect the community.
Kajal settled in a rented house in Bramhavar in Udupi district nine years ago. Prior to that, she had worked in Mumbai. She will introduce herself as ‘Kajal Bramhavar’, as an ode to people who gave her love, respect and an opportunity in mainstream devoid of prejudices.
