Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel promised to help transgenders to by providing ration card, voter ID and other facilities, as they are living a miserable life.
He was speaking after inaugurating Parivarthana Trust, which was exclusively founded for transgenders, at ZP Netravati Hall on Tuesday.
“This trust should be a role model for other organisations which are functioning in India. I urge the law enforcement authorities to provide all sorts of security to the transgenders. They should be brought to the mainstream of the society,” he said.
Addressing the gathering ZP CEO P I Sreevidhya said that the trust will surely bring the transgenders to the main stream. India should follow some of the foreign countries, where the transgenders are being treated like normal human beings.
Police Commissioner Chandra Sekhar inaugurated the logo of Parivarthan Trust and later said that, now there is no discrimination in the society. All are the children of the god almighty. Police department will support the trust whenever it is necessary.
Senior lawryer Asha Nayak, Information Officer Khader Shah and others were present.
