Bantwal: “The ambitious project to build Tree Parks in each assembly constituency will be executed soon in phases,” said Minister for forest and ecology Ramanath Rai.

He was addressing after inaugurating the ‘Siri Chandanavana’ at Kelinja, near Vittal on Friday.

“The project has been already implemented in Udupi’s Badagabettu, Mangalurur’s Tannirbavi, Bantwal and Puttur. Now in ‘Siri Chandanavana’ more than 3000 sandalwood saplings will be planted over 500 acres of land,” he said.

He further said that to spread the awareness among the children about the protection of forest and ecology ‘Chinnara Vana Darshana’ programmes will be conducted.

“Non-forest activities have been restricted for the forest zone,” he added.
