Puttur: A motor accident tribunal has ordered a compensation of Rs.29 lakhs to be paid to the bereaved family of a college Principal in Vitla, Ramachandra Bhat, who died in road accident when his scooter came under Tanker near Uppinangady in 2007.
The Owners of the erring tanker and an insurance Company covering the accidental death were asked to pay the amount to Late Bhat’s family, even after 4 years as a matter of justice.
The respondents could not tell whether they would go in appeal against the tribunal’s directions.
The petitions from the aggrieved family were represented by advocate Mahesh Kaje and assisted by Kishor Kolattaya, Aruna and Prasad Rai.
