Kundapur :  In a queer incident, police personnel were attacked for the sole reason that they tried to chase and intercept a bike  in which three persons were riding near the Parijatha Circle in Kundapur on  August 7.

 When cops questioned the bike riders, they reportedly attacked the cops who in turn reportedly assaulted the men.

It is learnt three youth named Ranjith, Chethan and Naveen on a triple ride at around 7 pm refused to halt as per the instructions of traffic police  one Manjunath from Chitradurga who was recently posted at Parijatha Circle.

Of the three riders one of them  Naveen managed to  escape. Two of them who sustained injuries in course of the clash  were taken to hospital. When  the cop visited the hospital and questioned them, there arose an altercation again. It is learnt the cops have also lost a walky-talky during the incident.
