Mangaluru: Demanding to lift the ban on Kambala, Tulunada Rakshana Vedike (TRV) staged stir in front of Mini Vidhana Soudha on Tuesday.
“No casualties have been reported from Kambala yet. Whereas, in Jallikattu in past three years as many as 60 people has been lost their life and many have been injured severely. But still in Tamil Nadu people protest for their traditional sport,” said TRV Founder President Yogesh Shetty jeppu.
He further said that people also get injured while playing kabaddi and other sports, it doesn’t mean that those sports should be banned.
“Let the PETA members to watch Kambala and then to decide whether it is cruel or not. By circulating fake messages through social media they cannot prove that buffalos are being treated cruelly in Kambala,” he added.
Mohandas Pai, Anand Amin, Srikanth Salian, Jyotija Jain and others were present.
