Mangalore : The Tulunadu Rakshana Vedike (TRV) conducted a protest rally in Shakhinagar on November 11 in city, were the conditions of the roads after a long monsoon had deteriorated to such an extent, that city buses passing through Nantoor, Bikarnakatte, Kulshekar and parts of Shakthinagr could not move without oscillating and passengers in terrifying condition. Even after the rains have subsided since Diwali . This is because Mangalore City Coprporation (MCC) as not founded mayor or deputy mayor, a part from not having studding committees on city management for more than 6 months now, in spite of a clear Congress majority similar to what the Vidhana Sabha in Bangalore had.
The TRV condemned the MCC and the rolling congress for not attending to local problems on roads, transport and communications since the congress party secured a majority in both Bangalore and Mangalore.
The TRV President Yogish Shetty, Jeppu was critical of the Mangalore roads on which hundreds of vehicles were daily moving between Nantoor and Shakthinagar, as also in many other places in view of heavy rains in the past 5 months. He demanded immediate repairs, reconstruction and widening of all those roads which have been turned into potholes or in broken condition in several areas.
About 100 demonstrators took to the streets in the TRV protest rally to mend the matters in surface transport in view of heavy traffic moving in those areas of bad roads. The TRV hoped that a mayor and deputy mayor would soon be found in MCC to set right the present conditions.
