Mangaluru : Traditional games, singing, quiz on Tulu culture and other programmes were held as a part of Pilikula Habba in Mangaluru on Thursday.
Minister for Youth Empowerment, Sports and Fisheries K Abhayachandra Jain said that the various programmes in Pilikula such as Pilikula Habba, aim towards developing the place, as a favourite tourist spot in the district.
Bombe Balaga, GSB marriage, Gumte Kolata by Kudubi community, peacock dance and other troupes were part of the procession. Traditional games, a quiz on Tulu culture, literature, theatre and film were conducted by Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy.
Prakash Mahadevan and party gave a musical performance and a magic show was staged by Kudroli Ganesh. A dance drama ‘Kordabbu Tannimaniga’ was also held.
Kannada University, Hampi, Former Vice Chancellor and Pilikula Nisargadhama Society Governing Council member B A Vivek Rai, Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy President Janaki M Brahmavar, Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy President Roy Castelino , Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy President Mohammed B A Haneef, Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy Registrar Chandrahas Rai, Pilikula Regional Science Centre Director K V Rao, Pilikula Nisargadhama Society Executive Director S A Prabhakar Sharma and DK district Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Pradeep Kumar Kalkura were present among others.
