Mangalore : A new Tulu movie “Kanchilda Bale” by Kalabhairava Creations in Bangalore, based on the tradition of Bhootaradane has received the censor board’s U certificate and is set to be released this March.
Speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on Thursday, Kumbra Raghunath Rai, the producer and director of the movie, said that the film is a study of Bhootaradane and taken from different points of views of two different generations.
He also said that, Jai Karnataka Kannada Association Founder Muttappa Rai, his wife Rekha Rai, and former Puttur MLA Shakunthala will play guest appearances in the film.
The scene revolves around a family, which believes that its ancestors are a dynasty that once ruled Tulunadu.
Actors like Navin D. Padil, Charithra Hegde, Saikrishna, and Aravinda Bolar have played a major roles in the film. Director Kumbra Raghunath Rai has also won a Best Regional Film Award for his film “Maaribale” done over a decade back.
