Mangaluru: Tulu movie ‘Oriyan Tunda Oriyagapuji’ was released in five theaters across Mangalore and Udupi district on Friday, May 15 .
The administrator of Mangaladevi temple, P. Ramanath Hegde inaugurated the show by lighting the lamp. Speaking after inauguration, he said that it is good see so many Tulu films releasing one after another. The producer of Oriyan Tunda Oriyagapuji has tried to do his bit to Tulu society.
Director, H.S Rajshekhar said that the Tulu film industry is developing. The number of audience has also increased. He further added that Oriyan Tunda Oriyagapuji is very much different from movies released in the past in Tulu language. It is thriller with some good comedy and drama.
Producer of the movie B. Ashok Kumar and A. Gangadhar Shetty urged the people to watch the movie with their family.
The Central theatre was decorated with flowers and buntings. The guests were welcomed with Kerala chende. Many dignitaries, film crew were present during the program. People were seen standing in beeline to buy the tickets of the movie. The film was initially released in Mangaluru and Udupi simultaneously. In Mangaluru the film has been released in Central talkies, Big Cinemas, Cine polis, PVR and in Udupi the film is released in Ashirvad theatre.
The Kannada and Tulu artists have performed the characters of various languages.
Arjun Kapikad is playing the lead role in the film. Prajwal Poovayya is paired against him. Apart from artists from Tulu industry like Chetan Rai Maani, Aravind Bolar, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, Sundar Rai Mandara, Sai Krishna Kudla and many others actors from Kannada industry like Rakhadas, Bhavya and Mitra have played pivotal roles in the movie.
V. Manohar has composed the songs while background score has been given by Vijay Bharati. Stunts- Thriller Manju, Editing-B.S Kemparaj, Cinematography-Nagesh Acharya-Gowri Venkatesh and choreography has been done by Madan-Harini.
