Mangalore: Members of the Tulunadu Rakshana Vedike in association with the Autorickshaw and Tempo Drivers Owners Association organised a protest meet at the Tokkottu Junction on September 18, Tuesday morning, to condemn the recent hike in diesel prices and also against the cap on the number of LPG cylinders to be supplied during a year.
Speaking on the occasion, Yogish Shetty Jeppu, Founder President of Tulunada Rakshana Vedike said the union government had totally failed in protecting the interests of the common man. The cap on supply of LPG cylinders has further added to the burden of the people, he added.
Hameed Hassan, Vedike General Secretary, Chandrahasa Rai Pilar of Youth Wing, Salavuddin Ibu Organising Secretary, Razeeque Ullal, Convenor of Labour Cell, Nagesh Shetty Tokkottu, Wilfred D’Souza, President of Autorickshaw association, Dolphy D’Souza, President of Tempo drivers unit, Siraj Adkare and others took part in the agitation.
