Bangalore : An Earth Pressure Balanced Machine (EPBM) from China is in the capital to undertake the tunnel laying works for the Namma Metro project. Presently, the task of assembling this machine is on near the Jakkarayanakere grounds. Yet another EPBM of a Chinese company is to arrive shortly.
The task of laying tunnel from near Jakkarayanakere grounds to Majestic for Namma Metro will begin in September.
This project a part of the North-South Corridor of Metro and will be constructed from Majestic to Krishnarajendra Road.
The other EPBM machine would be used to dig ground for the tunnel from Shivashanker circle upto Victoria Hospital.
Presently, the tunnel laying works from Majestic to Central College as part of East-West Corridor is complete. The tunnel from North-South Corridor would be of 4 km out of the total 24.20 lm stretch line.
Both the North- South and East-West Corridors will converge at Majestic.
